STATE OF AFFAIRS IN TALLINN
Pictured on the map are Tallinn’s cycle paths.
Non-motorized traffic (NMT) paths (“kergliiklusteed” in Estonian) are likewise not marked on the map, as they do not exist either in the Traffic Act or in reality; safe and functional traffic is provided for both in the Traffic Act and in reality by sidewalks, cycle tracks, bike lanes, and roadways.
OBJECTIVE
According to the Tallinn Bicycle Strategy, by 2028, a core cycle network is to be built and connected with fitness trails in Estonia’s capital city. Also to be established are public bike storage options as well as a bike share system integrated with the city’s public transport system.
